Zuobin Zhao

P> Zuobin Zhao (August, 1958-), male, professor, Jingshan City, Hubei Province, China. He is currently the chairman of the board of directors of Guangxin Science and Education Group and the president of Wuchang University of Technology.

With the in-depth research on the quality-oriented education theory, he has published more than 10 papers in authoritative journals such as China Higher Education Research and China Higher Education, completed more than 10 projects at the provincial and ministerial level or above (including one key research project), and published 6 monographs such as Research on Quality-oriented Education in University and 15 characteristic textbooks of quality-oriented education such as College Students’ Innovative Quality Cultivation Course. At the same time, he has established a complete theoretical system and systematic practice model of Quality theory, Quality-oriented Education Theory and University Quality-oriented Education Theory. He has been awarded many important awards such as the second prize of National Higher Education Teaching Achievements, the third prize of National Higher Education Social Science Research Excellent Achievements, the Special Prize of Asian Education Reform Tokyo Summit Excellent Paper, the first prize of Hubei Higher Education Teaching Achievements and so on. In addition to in-depth research on quality-oriented education, he has also systematically studied the formation mechanism of futures prices, the core competitiveness of regional economy, the principles of personnel management, and the evaluation of human resources in the fields of economics and management. He once served as the leader of the research group of the China Foundation for National Philosophy and Social Sciences, and independently completed the 2008 Blue Book on Hubei’s Development, Research on Hubei’s Core Competitiveness which was released in 2008 Hubei Provincial Political Consultative Conference.

He has founded Wuchang University of Technology, with 14 colleges and 56 majors. There are more than 18,000 students and more than 1,100 teachers. The university is the only university of its kind in the country to independently undertake the comprehensive pilot task of national education system reform. For many years, the university has ranked among the top three comprehensive universities of its kind in the country, with an employment rate of over 92%.The school has trained more than 70,000 graduates, represented by Zhang Ji, a “talented boy” of Huawei, Zhang Zheng, the chief engineer of Singapore Shopee Group database, and Lu Weijian, chairman of the board of directors of the listed company. Liu Yandong, then Vice Premier of the State Council, fully affirmed the instructions, and the National Leading Group for the reform of the education system issued a special briefing to promote the whole country. The CPPCC National Committee, the Ministry of Education and the provincial government held a symposium on the implementation of Liu Yandong’s instructions in our school. The provincial Department of Education issued a special briefing, requiring universities in the province to learn from it.

He has also founded Guangxin Science and Education Group, whose business covers four major industrial clusters: great education, great tourism, great health, finance and real estate. The group has paid billions of taxes and fees and donated tens of millions of yuan to the society, making outstanding contributions to promoting economic and social development. It has won the honorary titles such as Top Ten Influential Brands in China, Top 100 Enterprises with Comprehensive Strength in Hubei Province and Advanced Collective for Charity Donation and so on.
