Zhao Gang

Zhao Gang, Ph.D., researcher. Vice Chairman of the Beijing Modern Urban Development Research Center, Secretary-General of the Global Innovation Center, Vice Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Innovation Association, and Joint Dean of the National Security and Rule of Law Research Institute at Beijing Jiaotong University. Winner of the "Energy Policy Award" at the World Energy Forum in 2016. He has held positions such as Deputy Director of the International Science and Technology Cooperation Office for Renewable Energy and New Energy at the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission, Vice Chairman of the Environmental and Energy Committee of the China International Chamber of Commerce, and Vice Chairman of the Global Science and Technology Innovation Network Expert Committee of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. He has also served as Deputy Director of the China Society for Economic Systems Analysis, Deputy Secretary-General and Director of the Technology Innovation Committee of the China-United States Exchange Foundation, and held various leadership roles in innovation dialogues between China, the United States, Europe, and Russia.

Currently, his main research focuses on national development strategies, energy policies, science and technology policies, science and technology development strategies, innovation cooperation, and international science and technology cooperation. His research achievements have received national and provincial-level awards multiple times. His major works include "Self-reliance and Strengthening of Science and Technology for Building a Strong Country in Science and Technology," "National Innovation Strategy and Entrepreneurial Spirit," "Innovation Strategy of the United States," "Theory and Practice of Science and Technology Diplomacy," "Geopolitics of Science and Technology," "Geopolitics of Science and Technology and National Science and Technology Security," "Major Changes - Economic Crisis and Technological Innovation," and "National Soft Power," among others. He has published hundreds of articles.
