Yongsheng HuangYongsheng Huang

Dr. Yongsheng Huang is currently a professor at Sun Yat-sen University, deputy dean of the School of Science, a leading talent introduction of Sun Yat-sen University Hundred Talents Program, chief scientist of the Gamma Photon Collider and Integrated Beam Facility Project, an outstanding talent introduced by Guangdong Major Talent Project, a fellow scholar in Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, and a visiting researcher at the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2022, he was appointed to the editorial board of the internationally renowned physics journal Matter and radiation at extremes. He was introduced to Sun Yat-sen University in 2021 and was responsible for the establishment of the School of Science. In July 2017, he introduced talents to the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, as the head of Beijing experimental beam, CEPC beam energy calibration and CEPC synchrotron radiation light source. In 2015, he served as the deputy director (in charge) of the High Power Excimer Laser Laboratory of the Chinese Academy of Atomic Energy Sciences, which was created by Dr. Gan Chang Wang to verify the main theoretical ideas of inertial confinement nuclear fusion.

Dr. Yongsheng Huang received his B. and Ph.D. degrees in department of engineering physics(DEP)from Tsinghua University, China, in 2005 and 2009, respectively. Dr. Huang's current research interests mainly include ultra-short and ultra-strong laser plasma interaction, gamma photon collider and industrialization of its related technologies: EUV light source, accelerator-driven nuclear drug preparation system, flashing cancer treatment, high-performance motors and their industrial applications. Dr. Huang has published more than 60 papers in famous international physics journals such as Physics Review Letters, Applied Physics Letters, Physics Review D letter, Physics Review D, Physics Review E, Scientific Reports and so on. In addition, he has edited/authored 2 books. Dr. Huang has made important achievements in the cutting-edge research of large scientific devices such as the world's first gamma photon collider and China's future positron collider, the preparation of extreme ultraviolet light sources and accelerator nuclear drugs, and the industrialization of cutting-edge technologies such as flashing cancer treatment, high-energy density and high-speed motors. Dr. Huang also achieved some awards and achievements, the outstanding doctoral graduate of Tsinghua University, the Cai Shidong Plasma Physics Award issued by the Zhou Peiyuan Foundation, Cai Shidong Plasma Physics Award Committee, and the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University Graduate Academic Rookie, and the third prize of the 2017 CNNC Science and Technology Award (first completer), the second prize of the Invention and Innovation Award of the China Association of Inventions. As the chief scientist, Dr. Huang led the team to innovatively propose and realize an asymmetric high energy density and high speed motor, which was successfully applied to the field of industrial motors, which can achieve long-term high speed continuous work efficiency and stable work efficiency greater than 90%, and breakthrough solves the bottleneck problems such as low efficiency and large temperature rise that cannot be solved by mainstream motor solutions under high speed conditions.
