Yang Manyuan

Professor Yang Manyuan conducts the research focusing on Daodi Astragalus Membranaceus, by which he has made the outstanding contribution to the comprehensive health cause. Apart from systematically constructing the upstream and downstream industrial chain system of astragalus membranaceus, he has creatively developed the integrated industry-university-research platform, obtained many patents and published multiple papers in the field of astragalus membranaceus. Moreover, he has also delivered keynote speeches at many thematic conferences. With the rigorous attitude for scientific research and upholding the originality and the questioning spirit, he has shared his own views at many large-scale conferences. As the founder of the Hengzong Astragalus Membranaceus Research Institute, he also acts as the president. There are other positions held by him: the director of Siyuan · Industrial Think Tank Foundation, the vice president of China Pharmaceutical Culture Society, the president of Astragalus Membranaceus Branch of China Pharmaceutical Culture Society, and the vice president of CAICC of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce. He has been awarded many honorary titles, like Scientific and Technological Innovation Talent in Industrial Projects in Shanxi Province, High-level Talent in Shanxi Province, and Leading Talent in Scientific and Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Shanxi Province. Besides, multiple awards have been conferred on him, including the Second Prize of China Industry-University-Research Innovation Achievement and the Award for Outstanding Private Tech Entrepreneurs in China. With the Chinese medicine industry centered around Hengshan astragalus membranaceus as the pillar industry in the poverty alleviation, the industry matrix integrating university, research and industry is constructed; with the five sectors including beauty care, food, health care, medicine and veterinary drugs as the focus, the transformation and application of the scientific research achievements of the cultivation, processing and utilization of Chinese herbal medicines including astragalus membranaceus are accelerated to be practiced. By these ways, a complete industrial chain is formed to supply products such as astragalus tea, astragalus health care wine, astragalus health care products, astragalus vinegar and astragalus toiletries. The development of Hengzong Astragalus Membranaceus Research Institute is empowered by Professor Wang Wenquan's team from the Institute of Medicinal Plant Development of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Wang Fengzhong's team from Institute of Food Science and Technology of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Wang Linyuan's team from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and relevant experts and teams from Shanxi University, Shanxi University of Chinese Medicine and Shanxi Datong University. By sticking to the principle of "setting standards with scientific and technological innovation and using standards to lead production", the additional value of astragalus membranaceus is aimed to be boosted and a "Hengzong Health Management Factory" in the post-epidemic era is expected to be built. Till now, over hundred products have been developed, more than 50 kinds of which have come into the market.
