Xin Zhong

Dr. Xin Zhong is currently a professor of the Chemical Engineering School, East China University of Science and Technology, and the Director of Shanghai Key Laboratoy of Multiphase Materials Chemical Engineering. Vice President of the Shanghai Reaserch Institure of the China Engnnering Strategy Reserch Center. Currently he is also the Secretary-general of the 8th Chemical Engineering Discipline Assessment Group of the National Council's Academic Degrees Committee; Deputy Director of the Education Steering Committee for Higher Education in Chemical Engineering under the Ministry of Education; Member of the 5^th National Engineering Education Steering Committee; Deputy Chairman of the Education Association of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. He is serving as an Editor-in-chief of "Chemical Higher Education." He served as an associate professor in ECUST in 1995. In 1997- 1999 he did his postdoctoral research in Tokyo Institute of Technology, was promoted to full professor in 2000. He has also served as Vice Dean and Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering during 2006-2014, Vice President of East China University of Science and Technology during 2015-2022, and Vice Chairman of the China Chemical Engineering Society during 2016-2023. Professor Dr. Xin received his B.S. from Dalian University of Science and Technology in 1984 he worked as Director of dept. of tech.& development in Wuhan dyestuff factory during 1984 to 1989. He received his Ph.D. degree in fine chemical engineering from ECUST in 1994. Dr. Xin’s current research interests mainly include Control Technology and Theory of Polymer Crystallization Process, Organic Functional Materials, low-carbon chemical engineering, and microchemical engineering, with an emphasis on the regulation of polyolefin micro-nanostructures, the construction of superhydrophobic polymer surfaces, and the synthesis of low-carbon chemicals, encompassing both fundamental research and practical applications. Dr. Xin has published more than 400 journal papers, and edited/authored 7 books and co-authored 2 books in English. Applied over 70 patents. He is the recipient of many awards including 7 provincial and ministerial-level awards for technological advancements and 18 provincial and national-level awards for teaching achievements, additionally, Baosteel Outstanding Teacher Award, Sponsored by the Shanghai Excellent Discipline Leader Program, and Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leaders.
