Xiaojian Zhao
Dr. Xiaojian Zhao is currently the Chairman and CEO of Suzhou BioInno Bioscience Co., Ltd.
He worked as the R&D and technical director for Invitrogen / GIBCO (now a brand of Thermo Fisher) and Merck Millipore for over 10 years and participated in the establishment of Invitrogen outsourcing service platform PD-Direct. He is an internationally renowned cell culture and biopharmaceutical expert. He has extensive experience in cell culture media development and large-scale production.
He got his Master’s degree at Peking Union Medical College, and Doctor’s degree at Colorado State University. He continued postdoctoral studies at Colorado State University and Non-profit Research and Development Institute for Blood Diseases. He returned back to China to start new business after many years of work in the US.
In 2020, he founded Suzhou BioInno BioscienceCo., Ltd. With his expertise in serum-free media and the most advanced scale production technology, he helped to push the development in domestic serum-free media industry, and fulfil the gap that left in the high end serum-free media area.
Under the leadership of Dr. Xiaojian Zhao, BioInno has been awarded Suzhou potential "unicorn" twice, provincial potential "unicorn" onece and "High-Tech Enterprise". The company has provided extensive solutions for dozens of domestic enterprises, and has been widely praised by customers.
Dr. Xiaojian Zhao has been awarded the "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent" in Taicang, Suzhou and Jiangsu separately. He has been a visiting professor at Changshu Institute of Technology, and was elected as the 2022 Industrial Professor of Changshu Institute of Technology.
