Wengang Bi

Prof. Wengang Bi received his PhD from University of California, San Diego, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1997. After devoting his career on forefront research and development at Hewlett Packard Laboratories, Agilent Technologies Inc. Laboratories, Philips Lumileds, and Intel, Prof. Bi currently works at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, as a professor. He is an elected Foreign Full Member of Academy of Engineering Sciences of Ukraine, Fellow of Optica (formally OSA) and Fellow of SPIE.

Prof. Bi has been conducting cutting-edge scientific and technological research and new product development in the fields of semiconductor materials, nano optoelectronic devices, integrated circuits, solid-state lighting and quantum dot LED displays. He has achieved a series of innovative forefront fundamental research and industrialization achievements in the areas of advanced semiconductor material epitaxy (MBE, MOCVD), high-end chips (high-speed DFB Lasers, EML, VCSELs, Micro-LEDs), 400G/800G silicon photonics and next-generation quantum dot Micro-LED displays.
