Wanlin Gao
Wanlin Gao is a professor of College of Information and Electrical Engineering of China Agricultural University. He is also the member of Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture, the member of Agriculture and Forestry Committee of Computer Basic Education in Colleges and Universities, senior member of Society of Chinese Agricultural Engineering, etc. He received degrees (B.S., 1990; S.M., 2000; Ph.D., 2010) from China Agricultural University. His major research area is the informatization of new rural areas, intelligence agriculture and the service for rural comprehensive information.
During his tenure as the Dean of the School of Information and Electrical Engineering at China Agricultural University, he served as the Executive Chairman of the conference and organized the first through sixth International Conference on Smart Agriculture Innovative Development (ICSaid) from 2014-2019. As the chairman of the sub-venue, he presided over the forum of the Agricultural Informatization and Digital Agriculture sub-venue at the 30th anniversary academic annual meeting of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering in 2009. As an expert in the construction of new rural informatization, he has presented over 30 academic reports at relevant academic conferences and development forums such as the International Society of Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering World Congress, Agricultural Remote Sensing Technology Application Seminar, World Telecommunication Day, etc. He proposed and discussed the content, methods, and methods of new rural informatization construction, the "one talent, three tasks" model of rural informatization construction, and the "nine machines in parallel" plan of rural comprehensive information services. The "3 × 3" of agricultural informatization construction architecture, etc. He conducted cutting-edge analysis, research, and practice on smart agriculture, smart greenhouses, green information technology, agricultural big data, and large-scale online education. Many new viewpoints and practical low-cost comprehensive information service solutions were proposed from both theoretical and practical perspectives, which are in line with reality and have strong operability. This has actively and beneficially explored and practiced the promotion of new rural informatization construction.
