Wang ChaoxiaWang Chaoxia


Dr. Chaoxia Wang, born in January 1969, is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the College of Textile Science and Engineering, Jiangnan University. She obtained her Ph.D. in Textile Chemistry and Dyeing & Finishing Engineering from Donghua University. She is a visiting scholar in Cornell University, Georgia Institute of Technology, and the University of Groningen. She has been selected in the “Highly Cited Chinese Scholars” and “World’s Top 100,000 Scientists”, Also. She is the director of the Keqiao Textile Industry Technology Center at Jiangnan University, the review expert of National Changjiang Scholar, the High level Talent Training Object of the Six Talent Peaks in Jiangsu Province, the training object of the "333 High level Talent Training Project" in Jiangsu Province, and the member of the Dyeing and Finishing Committee of the China Textile Engineering Society, the editorial board member of journals such as Textile Research Journal and Printing and Dyeing Additives. Dr. Wang is the author of the English monograph on Active Coatings for Smart Technology and the reviewer for journals such as Advanced Functional Materials. Dr. Wang’s current research interests focus on the study of smart textile materials and their practical applications, including research on surface modification principles and smart responsiveness of textile materials, research and application of smart wearable flexible textile material technology, textile printing and dyeing theory, environmentally friendly dyeing and finishing processes, and additive development technology. She has led and participated in more than 10 national and provincial level projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China's general projects, and key research and development projects, and she also has carried out more than 30 industry university research projects with listed or well-known enterprises such as HoDo Group, Hailan Group, Aimer joint-stock Company, Dali International Group, and Zhejiang Xidamen New Materials. Dr.Wang has published over 400 papers, including Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Angelw.Chem Int. Ed., and so on, of which more than 200 papers were indexed by Web of Science and have been cited by peers more than 5000 times. Dr. Wang has obtained 1 American invention patent authorization and 67 Chinese invention patent authorizations, in which more than 20 patents were successfully transferred to the industries. She hosted and participated in 10 national and provincial-level projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Jiangsu Province Enterprise Doctoral Program. Dr. Wang has received 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 4 third prizes for scientific and technological achievements from China Textile Industry Association, 1 third prize for scientific and technological progress in Jiangsu Province, 1 third prize for scientific and technological progress in Zhejiang Province, 1 first prize and 1 second prize for scientific and technological progress from China Chamber of Commerce. She has close scientific research exchanges and cooperation with renowned foreign universities such as Georgia Institute of Technology in the United States, Cornell University, University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, and University of Wollongong in Australia in the fields of high-performance fiber materials, textile nanofunctional materials, and graphene functional textile materials. With the help of international exchange work, Jiangnan University has established the International Joint Laboratory of Advanced Textile and Functional Textile Materials, and has held 5 international seminars on functional textile materials. During the operation of Keqiao Light Textile Industrial Technology Center of Jiangnan University, several of products and technologies such as foam dyeing and finishing, photo-thermal storage paste, photochromic fabric, temperature sensitive photochromic fabric and other products and technologies entered the production and application links, and the developed smart photochromic fabric and service enterprise cases were reported by media such as news broadcast, CCTV News Channel, CCTV News Client, Zhejiang Satellite TV, Shaoxing News Channel, etc. In terms of teaching, Dr. Wang has won two first prizes and three second prizes for teaching achievements in textile higher education from the China Textile Industry Association. She guided graduate students to win multiple silver awards in the National Challenge Cup, first prize in the China University Student Creative Entrepreneurship Competition, and special prize in the Jiangsu Province University Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition. She also has guided 6 graduate students to receive the National Scholarship and 4 Chen Weiji Excellent Paper Awards. Dr. Wang has won honors such as the Rong Zhiquan Award and the Jiangnan University Textile Education Teaching Award.
