Professor Qin Chuan, professor/researcher of Peking Union Medical College(PUMC)& Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences(CAMS),leading scientist of National Changping Laboratory, Dean of the College of Laboratory Animal Sciences, Shandong First Medical University, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences(CAMS), senior visiting professor at Keio University in Japan. Professor Qin Chuan has been engaged in laboratory animal science and comparative medicine research for a long time. She developed the theory and methodology of comparative medicine of "multispecies, multimodal, and multimethod simulation of human disease animal models", which greatly reduces the differences between animal models and clinical phenotypes; She established the first international "human disease animal model resource library"—National Repository of Human Diseases Animal Models of China, providing key solutions for clinical problems related to human genetic diversity and disease complexity; She created a comparative medical evaluation technology system for animal model pharmacology, which improved the clinical reproducibility of efficacy evaluation results. She designed and led the establishment of a series of standards for the quality, technology, welfare and management of laboratory animals, which greatly promoted the development of laboratory animal science in China.

Prof. Qin Chuan serves as President of the Chinese Association for Laboratory Animals(CALAS) , Chairman of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Laboratory Animals, Editor-in-chief of ACTA LABORATORIUM ANIMALIS SCIENTIA SINICA, Editor-in-chief of Chinese Journal of Comparative Medicine, Editor-in-chief of Animal Model and Experimental Medicine(AMEM), President of the Asian Federation of Laboratory Animal Societies and President of the International Society for Comparative Medicine. Her work has greatly promoted the development of laboratory animal science and animal welfare in China and the progress of international comparative medicine research.

Prof. Qin's research achievements have provided more than 53000 unique resources and technical support for basic, clinical, and pharmaceutical fields. During the five major epidemics from SARS to COVID-19, Prof. Qin is all assigned to establish animal models in an emergency and the comparative medical evaluation technology created by Prof. Qin was applied to pharmacodynamics research, vaccine and emergency drug evaluation, with an internationally leading accuracy rate, providing key technical support for the prevention and control of major epidemics. Professor Qin Chuan has published 289 papers as the first or corresponding author, including 8 papers on Cell, Nature, and Science. In 2021 and 2023, he was selected as a high cited scientist by Clarivate, and granted 13 invention patents (7 of which were converted).

Prof. Qin has won 2 state awards of China National Science and Technology Progress Award and 1 state award of National Innovation Excellence Award. Awarded the honorific title of March 8 Red Flaggers and March 8 Red Flaggers Model in China. Prof. Qin is the editor-in-chief of 6 national unified textbooks for "Laboratory Animal Science" and "Medical Laboratory Animal Science ", and have published 11 monographs.
