Ming Lv
Ming Lv, PhD, Professor at Taiyuan University of Technology, Special Allowances Experts of the State Council of China, National Teaching Master in Higher Education Institutions. Prof. Ming Lv is serving as the Director of Shanxi Energy Internet Research Institute and the Executive Director of Shanxi Research Institute of Chinese Engineering Science and Technology for Development Strategy, who served as the Principal of Taiyuan University of Technology and so on.
Prof. Ming Lv also serves as Director of the 10th Council of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, Executive Director of the Advanced Cutting Technology Research Association of China Tool Association (Vice Chairman of the North China Branch), Chairman of Shanxi Industrial Technology Graphics Society, Vice Chairman of Shanxi Mechanical Engineering Society, Chairman of Shanxi Production Engineering Professional Committee and so on.
Prof. Ming Lv has presided more than 20 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, which include four National Natural Science Foundation projects, one Central Guidance for Local Scientific and Technological Development Funding project and five provincial or ministerial key scientific research projects. Prof. Ming Lv won five second prizes for provincial and ministerial scientific and technological progress award, four of them ranked first and one of them ranked second for him.
As the first completed person, professor Ming Lv won the second prize of National Teaching Achievement Award. He was approved for the National Excellent Course of Higher Education Institution and National Teaching Team of Higher Education Institution. As the first completed person, professor Ming Lv won four first prizes for Teaching Achievement Award of Shanxi Province, which were the highest provincial award at that time.
Prof. Ming Lv has published more than 200 scientific research papers. More than 30 national invention patents were authorized. As the first author, professor Ming Lv wrote and published an academic monograph 《Non-resonant Design Theory and Ultrasonic Machining of Gears》. As the chief editor, he wrote and published four editions of 《Basis of Mechanical Manufacturing Technology》teaching material including an English edition teaching material. One of them was approved National Excellent Teaching material for Higher Education Institutions in 2011.
Professor Ming Lv has trained over 90 master postgraduates, over 30 doctor postgraduates, and 5 postdoctoral fellows. He proposed the concave error control theory for tooth profile of the machined gear. Based on the theory, He invented the shaving cutter with the non-equal depth chip groove, shaving cutter with the tooth-oriented chip groove and total cutting type honing gear shaving cutter. He established the non-resonant design theory and invented a new method of ultrasonic vibration-assisted honing gears with this theory. These research contents and achievements are in the leading position in the field of gear manufacturing and have been applied in the production practice. They effectively improve the tooth shape accuracy, surface quality of the machined gear and the production efficiency of gears with high hardness and high strength.
