Luo Bixiong

Mr. Luo Bixiong, a national renowned energy scientist and professor of engineering, was born in 1966, and graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China with a major in Thermal Energy and Power Engineering. His main honors and titles include, National Master of Engineering Design and Geotechnique Investigation in China, selected in the National Key Talent Project and received the honor of Youth Expert who has made outstanding contribution from the China State Council, Outstanding Contribution Award for China Electric Power Science and Technology from the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering, Outstanding Achievement Award for Science and Technology in Engineering Construction from China Association of Construction Enterprise Management, Distinguished Entrepreneur in the National Engineering & Consulting Industry from the China Engineering & Consulting Association.

At present, he is assuming responsibility of President and Chief Scientist of China Power Engineering Consulting Group Co., Ltd. (CPECC), Vice Chairman of China Engineering & Consulting Association,Vice Chairman of China Electric Power Planning and Engineering Association. And before he has been serving as President of China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. (GEDI), Expert Member of the Decision Advisory Committee of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, China.

Mr. Luo Bixiong has been mainly engaged in energy and power technology research & development, planning consulting, survey & design, and engineering construction for over 35 years. The total capacity of nuclear power plants(conventional islands) and offshore wind power he has presided or participated in the survey, design, or consulting work reached 33058MW and 7910MW, accounted for 58.1% and 25.9% respectively in China's installed nuclear and offshore wind power capacity. He applied system integration technology to promote the overall improvement and progress of China's single site 1GW class offshore wind power, 1GW class single unit nuclear power generation, 1GW class single unit thermal power generation manufacturing & supply chain. His technological innovation and engineering application achievements had improved energy conversion efficiency, promoted low-carbon-oriented integrated development, and ensured energy security.

Mr. Luo Bixiong has won science and technology progress grand award of Guangdong province, 3 gold medals of Project of National excellent design, 25 Provincial and Ministerial Science & Technology Progress and Engineering Awards. Apart from his 15 invention patents has obtained state authorization, he also established 10 national standards and 22 industry standards in chief or as co-editor, and published 5 academic monographs and 17 academic papers during past years.
