Liu Huaishan

Liu Huaishan,professor(T2) of the Ocean University of China, Doctoral Supervisor in Marine Geophysics, and member of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang. He obtained his Bachelor's degree from Shandong Ocean University in 1983, and his Master's and Doctoral degrees from Qingdao Ocean University in 1992 and 1997, respectively. Professor Liu conducted research and technology at the Geological Survey Command of the Shengli Oilfield, Ministry of Petroleum from 1983, and then carried out research and teaching work at the Ocean University of China from 1999.

Professor Liu currently holds several positions including: Executive Director of the Chinese Geophysical Society, Deputy Director of the National Security Geophysics Committee, Deputy Director of the National GIS Application Level Examination Expert Committee, Director of the Marine Oil and Gas Exploration Data Collection Technology Sub-center of the National Engineering Research Center for Marine Oil and Gas Exploration, member of the Geological Society of China, member of SEG, and editorial board member of Applied Geophysics and Geophysical Prospecting for Petroleum. In the fields of oil and gas geophysical exploration, marine geophysics, and marine natural gas hydrate detection, he has undertaken more than 40 research and achievement transformation projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the 863 Program, major special projects, and related enterprises. The project funding exceeds 230 million CNY. Based on the significant needs in the field of marine energy and environment, Professor Liu has successfully developed the first domestically initiated key technology and equipment for shallow high-resolution seismic 3D detection system with independent intellectual property rights. Its main technical indicators are superior to similar foreign technical products, achieving large-scale application. And the research results have successfully carried out shallow high-resolution seismic detection surveys of geophysical data in the Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea, East China Sea, South China Sea and other sea areas, completing a workload of over 50,000 kilometers. It has predicted several favorable prospect areas for hydrates and has been verified by drilling. It has provided basic data for major projects such as geological risk assessment of offshore oil field disasters and pre-selection of Bohai seabed channels. It has achieved significant economic and social benefits, with a total economic benefit of 791 million CNY. Professor Liu has been honored with titles such as Shandong Province Outstanding Science and Technology Worker. In the past years, Professor Liu was awarded some prizes, which includes: the second prize for technological invention in the Outstanding Achievement Award for Scientific Research in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, the first prize for scientific and technological invention of the China National Association for Automation in Petroleum and Chemical Industry, and other provincial and ministerial awards totaling 7. He has been granted 22 domestic and foreign invention patents, 23 software copyrights, and has published more than 60 high-level research papers.
