Liu Guanguo

Prof. Liu Guanguo has been engaged in scientific research and technical service work on the enhancement of intrinsic safety and intelligent technology in the transportation industry, and he has been extensively involved in the research and development of new technologies in various major bridge projects, concrete materials and project management. Prof. Liu Guanguo has presided over or participated in the development and application of new technologies such as concrete quality control technology research, bridge engineering durability enhancement, and prevention and control of road safety hazards.

He is proficient in the basic theories and technical knowledge of his specialty, and has participated in the preparation of industry and local standards. He has presided over and participated in more than 20 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects and published more than 40 papers (including 4 SCI and EI papers); he has won the first and second prizes of the Science and Technology Award of the China Communications and Transportation Association, the second and second prizes of the Science and Technology Award of the China Highway Association, the first prize of the Science and Technology Award of the Jiangsu Highway Association, and the third prize of the Science and Technology Award of the Jiangsu Institute of Comprehensive Transportation and Communications; and he has authorized 8 invention patents, 1 Jiangsu provincial work method; 1 Ministry of Transportation industry standard, 2 Jiangsu local standards, 1 Jiangsu local guide, 1 group standard.

Major scientific achievements:

1. As one of the main authors, Prof. Liu Guanguo completed the compilation of one Ministry of Transportation-level industry guideline "Code for Durability Design of Concrete Structures for Highway Engineering" (JTG/T 3310-2019).
2. He made a greate contribution to the quality control and improvement of concrete for highway construction in Jiangsu Province in eastern China and Fujian Province in southeastern China, especially for bridge projects. (Compiled several official design standards)
3. Made technical contributions to the macro-strategic field of transportation safety. Chaired a number of provincial and municipal transportation safety planning projects, which defined the objectives, work steps and milestones for the five-year development of the technical field of safety in the transportation industry in a province or municipality, and guided the development of medium- and long-term safety management.
4. Prof. Liu Guanguo made significant contributions to the development of transportation safety technology. He and his team have carried out a number of research works on technologies related to risk prevention and control, hidden danger investigation and management, and emergency response, including high-profile scientific research projects such as provincial key research and development projects and CAAC scientific research program projects.
5. Educational contributions: Prof. Liu Guanguo was appointed as industrial professor and doctoral supervisor of Hohai University, he has trained more than 30 postgraduates in total, and brought the results achieved in engineering practice into universities to promote the combination of industry, academia and research.
