Lin YandanLin Yandan


Lin Yandan, female, received B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in the Department of Light Sources & Illuminating Engineering, Fudan University in 1999 and 2005, respectively. During this period, from 2003 to 2004, she received PhD education in Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany, based on the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst) Joint PhD Program. Since March 2005, she became a full staff in Fudan university, as a lecturer(2005-2006), then associate professor(2006-2014) and professor(2014-now). Now she is a full professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Information Science and Technology, Fudan University. Meanwhile she is responsible for the Partnership Framework governing the joint supervision and awarding of doctorate diplomas between Technical University Darmstadt and Fudan University since 2020.

In academic field, she chairs the CIE TC1-91 (Committee of the International Commission on Illumination), and is the Chinese Representative for CIE Division 4, the Chairman of the Intelligent Transportation Lighting Committee of China Illuminating Engineering Society, the Chairman of International Forum on Automotive Lighting (IFAL), and associate president of China 3D Industry Association.

In the past 20 years, Prof. Yandan Lin has adhered to the front line in the field of light health including the visual and biological effects of light, conducting long-term interdisciplinary research on photobiological effects, human factors methodology, color science, and image processing, continuously carried out long-term and in-depth systematic scientific research at the forefront in this field, played the leading role of outstanding female scientists in the field of engineering.She has undertaken more than 60 projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation, "863" and "973" programs, major national projects for China Commercial Aircraft and Railway Vehicles, and projects for GTB(The International Automotive Lighting and Light Signalling Expert Group) etc., and achieved a number of achievements and won multiple awards.

Prof.Lin has published over 100 academic papers and holds more than 40 authorized patents. She has been awarded the International Commission on Illumination Award for Outstanding Contributions, the Shanghai Women's Innovation Award, the 2022 China Audiovisual Health Industry Technology Innovation Leader Award. In 2023, the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) announce she as the laureate of the 2023 WFEO GREE Women in Engineering Award.
