Lin MinLin Min

Dr. Lin Min is a pioneer in the development of hollow titanium silicon molecular sieves for catalytic oxidation in China. He is an academic leader, expert with outstanding contributions, and senior expert in the field of catalytic oxidation in SINOPEC. He is the Chief Scientist of SINOPEC Catalysts Co., Ltd., a senior engineer at SINOPEC Research Institute of Petroleum Processing, and is a doctoral supervisor and professor at the Advanced Center for High-Precision and Advanced Materials at Beijing University of Chemical Technology. He has long been engaged in catalytic new materials in the petrochemical industry development and industrial application of new green oxidation technologies.

He first proposed the concept of intracrystalline hollow molecular sieves and pioneered the use of hollow titanium silicon molecular sieves as catalytic materials, making China the only country in the world with this intellectual property right. It has been designated as a national key new product, and the world's first industrial device has been built to achieve industrial production. The product has been used for the clean production of oxygen-containing chemicals that China urgently needs, building an efficient and green oxidation platform, and solving the problems of low hydrocarbon oxidation efficiency, multiple by-products, and large pollution from the source.

He invented a high crystallinity microporous material with mesoporous properties and a multi hollow titanium silicon molecular sieve, significantly improving the accessibility of active centers and catalytic efficiency. The diffusion rate is four times that of titanium silicon molecular sieve (TS-1). With the help of this efficient catalyst, for the first time, a one-step method has been used to prepare oxidative chemicals such as acetone oxime, tert butyl peroxide, zinc pyridine sulfide, and butanone oxime. This greatly simplifies the original process, surpasses international advanced levels, and achieves environmentally friendly industrial green production. The products have been applied in high-end fields such as aviation, transportation, electronics, and medicine.

He invented a new type of high-efficiency epoxidation catalytic material with silicon rich hollow titanium silicon molecular sieve on the surface, developed a new technology for clean production of epoxypropane using propylene one-step method, solved the problem of low-temperature selective catalytic oxygen atom orientation embedding into propylene carbon double bonds, overcame the difficulty of balancing activity and selectivity in the oxidation field, invented efficient hydroxyl coupling bonding agents, and broke through the limit of molecular sieve content in catalysts, The first domestic industrial unit for direct epoxidation of propylene to produce epoxypropane has been built, with superior technical indicators such as conversion rate, selectivity, material consumption, and energy consumption compared to similar advanced technologies abroad. This puts China on par with the United States and Germany as the world's top three in this field.

As the first person to complete the project, he has won two second prizes for Chinese national technological inventions, three first prizes for provincial and ministerial level technological inventions, two first prizes and two second prizes for provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological progress, and two excellent awards for Chinese invention patents (all of which are the first person to complete the project); He has also won the first National Innovation Excellence Award, the Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the National Outstanding Engineer Award, the Hou Debang Chemical Science and Technology Innovation Award, and the China Petrochemical Science and Technology Innovation Merit Award; His leading research group was awarded the Excellent Innovation Team of SINOPEC; He has published 85 scientific papers and obtained 538 authorized invention patents.
