Liao Zhongbiao
Liao Zhongbiao, male, born in 1958, holds the positions of pharmacist-in-charge, attending physician, and is a member of the Communist Party of China. Currently, I serve as the chairman of Sichuan Juyuan Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd., and the director of Quxian Zhongrun Hospital. My professional contributions include the publication of 5 papers, leading applications for 3 foreign invention patents, 1 domestic invention patent, and 43 domestic utility model patents. I have collaborated with several universities. The details of my collaborative work with universities are as follows:
I cooperated with Sichuan University to research and enhance the processing technology for high-quality prepared herbal medicine “Paeoniae Radix Alba” in pieces in Quxian County. The result is that farmers income and land use efficiency have witnessed an increase. Also, our efforts have contributed to social benefits and local economy. Importantly, the production of “Paeoniae Radix Alba” by our company meets the standard of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.
In addition, I collaborated with Zhejiang Ocean University to discover the AC inhibitory factor in extracts of prepared Atractylodes Macrocephala and other traditional Chinese medicinal formulas. Our joint research and development focused on key technologies for producing relevant hypotensive products. Specifically, the cooperation also included identifying the new functions of characteristic Chinese medicinal materials, which contributed to a clearer understanding of the mechanism of action, exploring new applications for traditional medicines, and promoting the culture of traditional Chinese medicine. This collaboration stands as another innovative aspect of the project.
What is more, I forged rapport with Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to plan to the establishment of a key laboratory for prepared herbal medicine “Paeoniae Radix Alba” in pieces in Quxian County, Dazhou City. Upon the completion of the laboratory construction, the focus will be on the selection and breeding of “Paeoniae Radix Alba” varieties, planting, on-site processing, quality control, process improvement, and relevant standards verification. A comprehensive research will be conducted to develop prepared herbal medicine “Paeoniae Radix Alba” in pieces in Quxian County, Dazhou City.
Moreover, I cooperated with Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to lead a research group focusing on the selection and breeding of new strain of Paeoniae Radix Alba -- Qubai No. 1 in Quxian County. I served as the leader of the research group. Qubai No.1 has been recognized by the expert panel of Sichuan Provincial Committee for the Identification of Non-staple Crop Varieties, which contributed a genuine medicinal material to the eastern Sichuan medicinal library and expanded its seed sources. This accomplishment has laid a new foundation for the high and stable yield of “Paeoniae Radix Alba” medicinal material.
