Jun WuJun Wu


Dr. Jun Wu is currently the professor of Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University, Japan and School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering , Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China . received the Ph.D. degree in information and telecommunication studies from Waseda University, Japan, His research interests include intelligence and secuity of Internet of Things (IoT), digital twin, 5G/6G, smart grid, edge computing, etc.

Dr. Wu has been selected as "World's Top 2% Scientists" issued by Stanford University. As the chair, he is leading the development and global promotion of IEEE P21451-1-5 standard for IoT network management (IEEE P21451-1-5), collaborating with the National Institute of Standards and Technology ( NIST), USA. He has published more than 240 high-level academic papers, including top journals and conferences, such as T-IFS, TDSC, TPAMI, TMC, AAAI, etc. Among his aforementioned papers, more than 100 papers have been published in IEEE Transactions/Journal/Magazine. 14 papers have been selected as ESI Highly Cited Paper (top 1%), and 4 papers were selected as ESI hot paper (top 0.1%). He has co-authored a book entitled as "Smart Grid Standards: Specifications, Requirements, and Technologies", with Nobel Prize winner, Prof. Daniel M. Kammen with University of California, Berkeley, USA. He has obtained 17 authorized patents. He has hosted more than 20 projects, including projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NFSC), Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), and the projects from industrial companies. He obtained the Gold Award of Geneva International Invention Exhibition in 2023, the Second Prize in Science and Technology Progress of the Chinese Electronics Society in 2018, the Second Prize in Natural Science of the Ministry of Education in 2019, the Best Paper Award of IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing in 2020, the Best Conference Paper Award of IEEE Communications Systems Integration and Modeling (CSIM) Technical Committee in 2018, the Best Paper Award of TSP Conference in 2019, and the Best Paper Award of IEEE SmartCloud Conference in 2023, etc. He also won the 2021 Outstanding Communication Expert Award and Outstanding Special Issue Award of Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering (FITEE), which is issued by CAE. He served as the Track Chair of the IEEE IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC-Spring) 2019/2020/2023, the general co-chair of 17th International collaboration Symposium on Information, Production and Systems (ISIPS 2023), general co-chair of EAI International Conference on Broadband Communications, Networks, and Systems (BROADNETS 2022), PC co-chair of International Conference on Intelligent Metaverse Technologies & Applications (iMETA2023). He also served as the Associate Editor of IEEE Systems Journal, IEEE Networking Letters, IEEE Access, and the guest editor of SCI journals including FITEE, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Sensors Journal, Sensors, and so on; His research achievements have been applied widely in the industrial fields of telecommunications, energy, finance, etc.
