Hou Yunfeng

Prof. Hou Yunfeng, a national-level high-end talent of China, Professor at Linyi University, Senior Engineer, Chairman of Shandong Jinzhuji Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Graduate Supervisor in cooperation with Jilin University and Guangxi University. He also serves as the Director of the Shandong Provincial Engineering Research Center for New Veterinary Chinese Medicine Preparations, and as the Vice President of the Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology branch of the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine. He has been honored with titles such as Provincial "Innovation Talent", Advanced Individual of the Provincial Gold Bridge Award, Jinan Role Model, and Economic Figure of the 14th "Influence Jinan".

Prof.Hou Yunfeng has long been engaged in the research and development of modernization technologies for traditional Chinese medicine, adhering to the essence of Chinese medicine heritage and innovation while remaining true to its principles. Using modern science to "taste hundreds of herbs," he was one of the first to advocate for transforming the lead compounds extracted from Chinese herbal medicines into small-molecule drug efficacy components that can act directly on targets, breaking through technical bottlenecks such as slow effectiveness, long treatment duration, large dosage requirements, high cost, unstable indicators, and unclear toxic side effects of traditional Chinese medicine. This innovative concept provides a mature example and new ideas for the research and development of veterinary Chinese medicine formulations, and plays a demonstrative and leading role in the heritage and innovation of veterinary Chinese medicine.

In recent years, I have led or participated in 22 government projects at various levels, including 3 national-level projects and 6 provincial-level projects. As the main inventor, I have obtained 9 authorized invention patents and have applied for 4 additional invention patents. I participated in the development of 12 new veterinary drugs classified as National Category III or higher, obtaining 2 certificates for new veterinary drugs. The research and development of "bacteriophage gene editing and its synergistic prevention and treatment of super bacteria infections" won the Excellence Award in the National Disruptive Technology Competition. The new targeted veterinary Chinese medicine formulations I have developed have been awarded 8 provincial-level or higher honors, including the National Agriculture Triple-A Golden Bridge Award first prize, the Provincial Science and Technology Workers Innovation Competition first prize, the Provincial Golden Bridge Award first prize, and the Provincial Agricultural Technology Extension Achievement Selection Plan first prize.

Professor Hou Yunfeng has been focusing on the development and application of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine in animal disease prevention and control for 31 years. He has successively established more than ten independent legal entity companies, including "Jinzhuji Pharmaceutical", "Guangyuan Pharmaceutical", "Chenlong Biotechnology", and "Yucheng Biotechnology". A biotechnology industry group has been formed with animal drug research and development design, raw material supply, production process development, achievement transformation, and technical services as the core. The company has grown into the largest poultry traditional Chinese medicine production enterprise in the province, and has been rated as a national high-tech enterprise, a provincial "specialized, refined, and new" small and medium-sized enterprise, a provincial gazelle enterprise, a provincial modern animal husbandry Qilu model feed animal medicine demonstration production enterprise, and a provincial agricultural industrialization demonstration consortium. The "Jinzhuji" brand founded has been rated as one of the "Top Ten Brands of Qilu Chinese Veterinary Medicine" for three consecutive years and ranks among the top.
