Hongzheng Liu, doctoral supervisor of Shandong University, is senior researcher, expert with special government allowance of the State Council, former president of State Grid Shandong Electric Power Research Institute, president of Shandong Global Energy Internet Research Institute, member of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Association for Science and Technology for the ninth time, vice chairman of the High Voltage Special Committee of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering and concurrently the leader of the live working group, vice chairman of the National Technical Committee on Live Working of Standardization Administration of China, vice chairman of the operation branch of the National Technical Committee on Overhead Line of Standardization Administration of China, vice president of Shandong Product Quality Inspection Association, vice president of Shandong Electrical Instrument Association, and director of Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Ultra-high Voltage Power Transmission and Transformation Technology and Equipment.

Hongzheng Liu has been focusing on the research and application of basic theories and key technologies in the fields of ultra-high voltage, smart grid, new energy and power robots, and working actively. In the fields of related technology, he has presided over and completed 15 national key projects and more than 30 provincial and ministerial key projects. His team has won 1 second prize of the national scientific and technological progress award, as well as 6 first prizes, 15 second prizes and 6 third prizes of the provincial and ministerial scientific and technological progress awards. Hongzheng Liu has published more than 80 papers and obtained more than 20 invention patents.

As a leader in the national high-voltage technology and power industry, Hongzheng Liu has published 6 academic works, including High-voltage Combined Electrical Appliances, Transmission Line Inspection and Maintenance Robot, ±660kV DC Transmission Line Live Working Technology and Civilized Production Standardization Manual for Substation, and has organized or participated in the drafting of 17 industry standards such as 1000KV AC ultra-high voltage Line Live Working Guidelines. On October 17, 2011, he led the team to complete the world's first live working at ±660kV DC transmission line, and won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. In addition, Hongzheng Liu has presided over and completed the national 863 project "Research and Application of Big Data Analysis Technology in the State Assessment of Power Transmission and Transformation Equipment", a science and technology project, as well as 53 Shandong ultra-high voltage power transmission and transformation projects such as 500 kV Xinliao double line and Yinchuan East-Qingdao ±660 kV DC transmission project acceptance and transmission. Further, he has presided over and completed or participated in and completed the commissioning and power transmission of nine " ultra-high voltage into Lu" engineering construction projects, including the 1000 kV Yuheng-Weifang ultra-high voltage AC project and the ±800 kV Shanghai Temple-Linyi ultra-high voltage DC project.

Since 2013, Hongzheng Liu has led the team to carry out in-depth research and development of new energy and clean energy technologies, and has comprehensively, excellently and efficiently completed the performance and quality testing of more than 200 large-scale wind farms and photovoltaic power stations in Shandong Province, which has won high praise from the majority of new energy enterprises. He has also won the honorary titles of Outstanding Scientific and Technological Worker of China Electric Power, Advanced Individual of Safety Production in Shandong Province, Outstanding Communist Party Member of Shandong Provincial Organs, and the Most Beautiful Scientific and Technological Qilu Worker in 2022.
