Dr. Hector Wing Hong Tsang, Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Interim Director of the Centre for Mental Health Research of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Professor Tsang is an Honorary Professor of the University of Hong Kong, an Adjunct Professor at Peking University, Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Kunming Medical University and Sichuan University, and a Distinguished Professor of Nanshan Scholar at the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University.

Professor TSANG's research focuses on neuropsychology, social cognition and vocational rehabilitation of patients with mental illness, the combination of Chinese and Western rehabilitation treatments, such as mind~body exercises, acupressure and aromatherapy after COVID-19, the effectiveness and anti-depression mechanisms of fitness qigong, mental health support policies for caregivers, anti-drug education for young people, rehabilitation and health management of people with disabilities. He has published more than 270 papers and is currently an associate editor of several high-impact international journals, including Administration and Policy in Mental Health and Mental Health Services Research, British Journal of Occupational Therapy, and Frontiers in Psychiatry. He has ranked among the top 2% of scientists in the world with the most cited papers in the field of psychiatry.

Professor TSANG has chaired two large-scale government consultancy projects, namely the Hong Kong Rehabilitation Programme and the Consultancy Study on the Needs and Support of Carers of the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities in Hong Kong. He is conducting a Consultancy Study on Comprehensive Child Development Services in Hong Kong. He joined the Steering Committee on Primary Healthcare Development of the HKSAR Government and is a member of the Quality Education Fund Assessment and Monitoring Committee. Professor TSANG is also committed to promoting the development of assistive technology and artificial intelligence to enhance the mental health of Hong Kong citizens and Mainland compatriots. He has been actively engaged in the development of rehabilitation services, and seeking innovation in service models and contents.
