He Yigang
He Yigang is a male, second-level professor, and Ph.D. supervisor. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, was selected in the first batch of the Ministry of Education's New Century Excellent Talents Support Plan, and received the Huo Yingdong Education Foundation Award for Young College Teachers. He is listed in the "Top Scientists in the World" lifetime impact ranking and was featured as the cover figure in the February 2021 issue of "Scientific Chinese." He is also listed in the "Global Top 100,000 Scientists Ranking."
In June 1996, he received his Ph.D. degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Hertfordshire in the UK in 2002. From 1992 to 2011, he worked at the College of Electrical and Information Engineering at Hunan University, where he was promoted to professor in 1999 and to doctoral supervisor in 2000. From July 2011 to July 2017, he served as the Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Automation at Hefei University of Technology. Since July 2017, he has been the Vice Dean of the College of Electrical and Automation at Wuhan University and the Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education's Engineering Research Center for Carbon Neutrality Perception and Efficacy Assessment.
He has been engaged in research on intelligent monitoring and health management of large power grids, power electronics conversion technology, ultra-high voltage flexible direct current transmission, intelligent perception and fault prediction of power transmission and transformation equipment, power communication channel modeling and monitoring, virtual instrumentation and intelligent signal processing, and intelligent perception technology and equipment for the energy Internet of Things. He has led more than 30 important scientific research projects, including major national science and technology special projects, key projects of the National High-Tech Research and Development Program (863), topics of the National Key Basic Research and Development Program (973), key and general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, and key international cooperation projects.
He has been the first author and received one first-class award in natural sciences from the Ministry of Education, four first-class awards for scientific and technological progress at the provincial and ministerial levels, one special award for invention, ten second-class awards, and two third-class awards. He holds 188 authorized Chinese national invention patents, 53 authorized U.S. invention patents, and 12 computer software copyrights. He has published 474 papers indexed by SCI, which have been cited 5230 times in other SCI-indexed papers.
He also holds multiple leadership roles, including Vice President of the Beijing Energy and Environment Society, Vice President of the China Energy Society, Vice President of the China Energy Science and Technology Industry Society, member of the Academic Committee of Wuhan University, Fellow of the China Society for Electrical Engineering, Vice Director of the Power System and Automation Professional Teaching Steering Committee of the China Machinery Industry Education Association, Vice Chairman of the Hubei Society of Electrical Engineering, Vice President of the Anhui Scientists Association, Executive Director of the China Computer Automated Measurement and Control Technology Association, Standing Committee Member of the Fault Tolerance Committee of the China Computer Society, Director of the China Society for Electrical Engineering, Executive Director of the Instrumentation Branch of the China Instrument and Control Society, Director of the National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Renewable Energy Grid Integration Technology, member of the Academic Committee of the National Key Laboratory of Electronic Testing, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the Aviation Science and Technology Key Laboratory for Strong Electromagnetic Environment Protection Technology, member of the Academic Committee of the Jiangsu Province Meteorological Energy Utilization and Control Engineering Technology Research Center, and member of the Academic Committee of the Guizhou Province Electric Power Big Data Key Laboratory.
