Guo YuanshengGuo Yuansheng


Dr. Guo Yuansheng is the Executive Vice Chairman of the China Sensor and IoT Industry Alliance and the Chief Expert at the Frontier Technology Research Institute of Beijing Institute of Technology. He holds adjunct professor positions at Wuhan University, East China University of Science and Technology, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Guizhou University, among others. He serves as the Vice Director of the National 3D Competition Organizing Committee, the Vice Director of the Sensing and Microsystem Technology Branch of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, and the Founder and Director of the Smart Healthcare and Big Health Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and Chinese Society of Geriatric Medicine. Dr. Guo is a member of the Science and Technology Committee of the China National Institute of Standardization, a member of the National Think Tank Expert Committee of Xinhuanet, a consultant for the Chinese American Information Storage Society and the North American Smart Healthcare Association, a member of the Expert Committee of the American Smart Manufacturing & Robotics Association, the Deputy Director of the Editorial Board of "China High-tech", and an editorial board member of the journals "Electronic Science and Technology" and "Virtual Reality and Intelligent Hardware".

With over 40 years of experience in the development and industrialization research of sensor and IoT technologies, Dr. Guo was among the first to propose the sensor dual-ecology industrial system and the establishment of "Sensor Valley", initiating pilot projects in seven regions. In 2007, he introduced the concept of integrating "home-based elderly care and technology-assisted elderly care", making him a renowned expert in the fields of sensors and smart healthcare with significant influence in Europe and America. As a national expert reviewer for various ministry projects, he has participated in the review of numerous special projects in electronic information. He has been awarded a second-class National Science and Technology Progress Award and a third-class award in 1995, three first-class provincial and ministerial awards, one second-class award, two third-class awards, and the Outstanding Contribution Award at the 2020 Global IoT Conference. Dr. Guo has achieved 59 sensor and application technology patent outcomes, including 14 invention patents. He has published 64 papers and authored seven monographs.
