Gang Fang
Dr. Gang Fang is currently the co-founder, VP, and CTO of GoodWe Technologies Co., Ltd. He served as Hardware Engineer in Santak Electronics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd during 2006-2009, was mainly responsible for developing the solar inverter and its accessory products. Subsequently, he was hired as a hardware manager in Jiangsu Ever New Energy Technology Co., Ltd from 2009 to 2011, leading the hardware R&D team and developing inverter products. Dr. Fang joined GoodWe in 2011, he currently responsible for managing the development, operation and lifecycle of all products, product and R&D system, Group's investment and financing operations, and assisting in the planning and implementation of corporate strategy.
Dr. Fang graduated from Beijing Jiaotong University in 2006 with a major in Electrical Information Engineering. He will graduate from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a major in EMBA in January 2024. He received his Ph.D. degree from European Academy of Natural Sciences in 2024.
He has been focused on the research and development of PV inverter products for nearly twenty years, and accumulated rich experience and profound understanding of the whole PV system in terms of technology, regulations, market, development trend and other aspects. He also devoted to the research of key technologies of power electronic converter for a long time and recognized as a leading technical innovator in the development of different inverter series in China. He in-depth researches on inverter topology, new magnetic components and semiconductor devices, control algorithm and other key technologies related to new energy power generation. Dr. Fang has obtained 146 patents for invention and utility models, published multiple papers in the top authoritative SCI zone 1 journal in the international field of electrical and electronics, and won 2 provincial and ministerial level science and technology awards. Moreover, he led the R&D of energy storage inverter products in China, integrating grid connected inverter and UPS technology, forming a brand-new product segment, leading the market development direction, and accumulating relevant knowledge of product technology and application.
Dr. Fang’ has received the following awards:
- Presided over R&D of bi-directional energy storage inverter won the third prize of Suzhou Science and Technology Award;
- Presided over R&D of key technology and application of medium-power PV inverter power system won the second prize of Jiangsu Science and Technology Award in 2018;
- Presided over the low-voltage non-isolated inverter and its grid-connected application of off-construction technology won the second prize of the Award for Outstanding Achievements of Higher Education Schools’ Scientific Research of the Ministry of Education of China.
