Feng Yu

Dr. Feng Yu has been engaged in digital governance of traditional energy and smart transportation and marketing for a long time, and is currently the chairman of China Coal Market Website, the dean of the Research Institute of Big Data on Coal of China University of Mining and Technology and postdoctoral tutor. He is an expert of the Energy Expert Database of the National Energy Administration, the eighth “Outstanding Youth” of the central state organs, a member of the jury of the sixth China Industry Award, and the top talent of Beijing “Fengze High-Level Talent Plan”. He is the member of the Economic Management Committee of China Coal Society, and the deputy director of the Marketing Committee of Coal Industry Technical Committee. He presided over the compilation of the pricing index of the coal with annual long-term agreement in China, and participated in and guided the compilation of regional coal prices index. The CCTD index which has been researched by him is the benchmark for domestic coal prices and the pricing basis of domestic thermal coal. He pioneered the use of cutting-edge technologies such as recurrent neural networks to develop the AI forecasting models of coal market, which can accurately grasp market changes and provide early warning and decision support for the coal industry. He has multiple patents and software copyrights, and is the main drafter of " Technical Standard of Carbon-Neutral Digital Railway Management System", "Technical Standard of Carbon-Neutral Digital Port Management System" and "Technical Standard of Carbon-Neutral Digital Ground-Based Sales Management System". More than 30 papers written by him have been indexed by SCI and published in core journals. The monograph "High-Quality Development of China's Coal Market under the Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Background” was selected as the topic of the Ministry of Education's 2022 theme publication. He has presided over the National Development and Reform Commission's "Coal Price Forecasting Model and Coal Price Operation Monitoring Research", the National Energy Administration's "Coal Flexible Supply Mechanism" and many other energy research projects of the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. He presided over the development of digitization projects of many large state-owned coal groups, including National Energy Group, China National Coal Group, Jinneng Holding, Yankuang Group, Huaihe Energy, Huaneng Group, etc.
