Chris Chang Yu
Dr. Chris Yu received a Ph. D. degree in physics from Pennsylvania State University in the US. He has carried out leading edge R&D work in three US fortune 500 companies including Micron Technology and Motorola, as well as a number of other publicly traded companies. His diversed research interests and contributions covered novel integrated circuit (IC) processes, key IC materials, biophysics, innovative detection technologies, as well as using IC and nano-technologies for life science applications, where he has made a number of major and lasting impact. He is a prolific inventor with over 300 patent applications (over 200 issued). He led R&D team in the development of one of the most successful IC materials which has been widely used in the fabrication of advanced IC devices globally. This IC material used a more environmentally friendly component, H2O2, which replaced previously environmentally unfriendly material, saving the world from several million gallons of waste annually. He is also one of the earlier inventors and developers of multi-cancer screening idea and technology which is now saving human lives. Throughout the years, his innovations and contributions have benefitted many people.
In recent years, his research interests and focus have been in the development of MEMS and nano-devices for life science applications including disease detection and treatment, drug delivery, and self-decomposed operations/devices (for example, for medical devices inside human body).
He is founding executive or co-founder of three publicly traded companies (with two on NASDAQ). He is also an author of over 70 technical papers.
