Cheng Shuiyuan

Prof. Cheng Shuiyuan, born in May 1965, secondary professor, Ph.D., doctoral supervisor, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee at Wuhan Polytechnic University (at the departmental level).he is the founder and academic leader of the country's first interdisciplinary subject, "Selenium Science and Engineering."

Prof. Cheng Shuiyuan has presided over more than 80 vertical and horizontal projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, published more than 300 academic papers (including 99 of SCI, 2 of EI, and 4 of ISTP), and published, edited, and reviewed 21 textbooks, popularization series and monographs. He developed more than 20 industry and product standards, including the "High Organic Selenium Food Ingredients from Plant Sources" group standard under the China Health Care Association, filed or was granted more than 30 national invention patents, and established 12 standard procedures. He has won 3 second-class and 2 third-class prizes of Liang Xi Forestry Science and Technology Award, 1 second-class prize of Scientific and Technological Progress of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, 1 third-class prize of Humanities and Social Sciences of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, 2 first-class prizes of Scientific and Technological Progress and 6 second-class prizes in Hubei, 1 first-class prize of Development Research of Hubei Government, 3 third-class prizes, 1 second-class prize of Outstanding Achievements in Social Sciences of Hubei Province, 1 second-class prize of Humanities and Social Sciences of Hubei Higher Education Institutions It has also won one first and second prizes of Hubei Provincial Teaching Achievements, one third prize of Hubei Provincial Natural Science, three good seeds and five invention patents and new products. The team has trained 40 master's degree students and 7 doctoral students. The team presided over the "plant source Se-enriched edible factor processing and utilization of key technological innovation and application" and "Se-rich plant cultivation and processing and utilization of key technologies and applications" two projects, identified by academicians and experts as the overall technology in the field of Se science and engineering are at the international leading level.

In 2022, the teaching and research project "Innovation and Practice of 'Three-dimensional One' Integrated Nurturing Mode for Health Industry" led by Prof. Cheng Shuiyuan was evaluated by the expert group, and it was unanimously agreed that in the process of integrating and nurturing for nutrition and health industry, the results were remarkable in terms of talent cultivation orientation, objectives, system and other aspects, with distinctive features and obvious innovation. In the process of integrating and educating people for the nutrition and health industry, the expert group assessed and agreed that the achievement was effective, distinctive and innovative in the orientation, goal and system of talent cultivation, and reached the leading level in China as a whole, and won the special prize of Hubei Teaching Achievement in 2022, and was to be declared as the national Teaching Achievement Prize. Professor Cheng Shuiyuan's interdisciplinary team of Se science and engineering teachers was awarded the honor of "Jingchu Good Teacher" in the "Searching for Jingchu Good Teachers" publicity campaign led by the Hubei Provincial Department of Education in 2022.
