Changjian Lin

Changjian Lin is a Distinguished Professor of the State Key Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Solid Surfaces at Xiamen University in China. He received his Ph.D. degrees from Xiamen University in 1985 by Professor Zhaowu Tian (Academician). Then he worked at National Institute of Standards and Technology for his post-doctoral activities (1987-1990) in USA. He became Full Professor in 1991 and Distinguished Professor in 2006 at Xiamen University, respectively. He worked as a visiting professor at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 1996, Alberta University, Canada, in 1997, and National Institute of Standards and Technology, USA, in 1995, 1999, and 2005, respectively. Professor Lin's research interests are mainly in the fields of electrochemistry, corrosion and protection, biomaterials and biosurfaces, and advanced materials for energy and environment. He is currently chief scientist of corrosion and protection of nuclear power industries in China, and served as executive associate editor and editor for several journals, such as J. Electrochem., Acta Metal., J. Corr. Sci., Corr. Comm., Molec., Biofunct. Mater. et al.

Professor Lin Changjian has presided over more than 50 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, National and Provincial key scientific research projects. He co-authored more than 550 academic papers in Nature, EES, Adv.Mater., JACS, CorrSci, EA and other journals, with over 20,000 citations. His H-factor is 76, and he has been selected as a global highly cited scientist, and listed in the top 2% of global scientists in 2022-2023, and global lifetime science influences in 2023 as well. Prof. Lin has authorized for 67 invention patents, among them more than 20 items of achievements related to scientific instruments, industrial sensors and detectors, electrochemical manufacturing and biological materials have been realized technical transformation and application, which widely benefited to science and industries. He has published more than 20 books (chapters) in the past years. And he has won more than 20 important awards and honors in science and technology from governments and academic societies, including the one First Prize of National Award of Science and Technology, more than 10 First and Second Prize Awards of Science and Technology from Ministry of Education and Fujian Province. Prof. Lin has supervised more than 130 PhD students and Master degree students, and he has presented more than 100 plenary/keynote lectures in various international and national meetings during the past years.

Professor Lin has honored the special allowance of the State Council experts, outstanding contribution award of Chinese doctorate winners, the national outstanding youth science fund of National Natural Science Foundation, outstanding contribution award of Chinese Electrochemical Society, outstanding achievement of Chinese Society of Corrosion and Protection, outstanding contribution award in science and technology of Xiamen City, and outstanding scientists of Fujian Province. And he has been selected as fellow of Chinese Society of Corrosion and Protection, honorary council member of Chinese Society of Biomaterials, member of the EU Academy of Sciences and fellow of VEBLEO Science and Technology Association. Professor Lin Changjian, as a general secretary, successfully organized the 45th Annual Meeting of International Electrochemistry Society in China. He maintained collaboration with worldwide scientists, laboratories and companies in Europe and US. He had been members of International Society of Electrochemistry, American Electrochemical Society, and International Corrosion Engineering Association.
